How We Compare VPS Providers

SecureTempMail is a temporary/disposable-email tool — a fundamentally different product from VPS hosting. We don't operate server infrastructure ourselves, and we don't run independent benchmarks of these providers. Being upfront about that matters more to us than pretending otherwise.

Where the data comes from

Every specification on a provider's page here — price, resources, features — is that provider's own public claim, taken directly from their official website. Each provider page states the date its information was last confirmed. VPS pricing and promotional credits change frequently; always verify current pricing on the provider's own site before purchasing.

One exception, disclosed on that provider's own page: Contabo's pricing page displays in Euros by default, not USD. For ordering providers by price only, we used a USD-equivalent figure that appears in Contabo's own page data (its built-in currency-conversion attribute) — that figure is never shown as a price Contabo itself advertises in USD, only used internally to decide ranking order. We also attempted to fetch pricing for two other providers (Hetzner, and A2 Hosting under its new "Hosting.com" brand) whose pricing loads through client-side widgets we couldn't reliably render; rather than publish a stale or guessed number, we left them out of this comparison entirely.

What the score on each provider card means

The number next to each provider (e.g. "8.5/10") is our own comparison score — not a review average or a rating sourced from Trustpilot, app stores, or user submissions. We don't have a review-collection system, so we don't display one.

It's a simple checklist out of 6 points, scaled to 10, awarding one point each for: a free trial credit offered, root access explicitly stated, DDoS protection included, multiple datacenter locations stated, NVMe/SSD storage stated, and pricing among the five cheapest providers we cover. Ties reflect this coarse, transparent checklist, not fine-grained testing, and aren't a claim that tied providers are identical.

How we make money

Links to providers on this site currently go directly to each provider's official site with no referral or affiliate tracking. If that changes in the future, this page will be updated to disclose it clearly.
