How We Compare VPNs
SecureTempMail is a temporary-email tool, not a VPN testing lab. We don't operate testing infrastructure for VPN speed benchmarks, leak detection, or jurisdiction audits — being honest about that upfront matters more to us than pretending otherwise.
Where the data comes from
Every specification on a provider's page here — price, jurisdiction, logging policy, server counts, advertised features — is that provider's own public claim, taken directly from their official website. Each provider page states the date its information was last confirmed against the live site. Pricing and promotions change frequently; always verify current pricing on the provider's own site before purchasing.
How rankings are built
Category pages (Best VPN, Best Cheap VPN, etc.) rank providers using a disclosed set of public criteria — price, stated logging policy and jurisdiction, server/country coverage, and breadth of advertised features. Each category page states its specific ranking basis. This is a comparison of published information, not a ranking derived from hands-on speed tests, leak tests, or extended real-world use, which we don't perform.
What the score on each provider card means
The number next to each provider (e.g. "8.5/10") is our own comparison score — it is not a review average, a customer-satisfaction rating, or anything sourced from Trustpilot, app stores, or user submissions. We don't have a review-collection system, so we don't display one.
It's a simple checklist out of 6 points, scaled to 10, awarding one point each for: an independently audited no-logs policy, a jurisdiction outside the "Five Eyes" surveillance-sharing countries, a kill switch, unlimited or 10+ simultaneous devices, explicit streaming-platform support claims, and pricing among the five cheapest providers we cover. Several providers land on the same score — that's an honest result of a coarse, transparent checklist, not fine-grained lab testing, and it's not intended as a claim that tied providers are identical products.
How we make money
Links to providers on this site currently go directly to each provider's official site with no referral or affiliate tracking. If that changes in the future, this page will be updated to disclose it clearly.
